DPM Sar Kheng: Cambodia Always Facilitates Refugees in Cambodia

Phnom Penh: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Samdech Krala Hom Sar Kheng said that Cambodia always works to facilitate the work of all refugees who are present in Cambodia.

Speaking at a working meeting with the Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Cambodia, Mr. Vitit Muntarbhorn, on 15 March 2022, he said that as a signatory to the Cambodian Refugee Permit, firmly uphold its obligations to the Montagnard indigenous peoples of Vietnam crossing into Cambodia, striving to address this issue to third-country asylum seekers. For those who want to return, the Ministry has also partnered with UNHCR to facilitate this work, including other refugees currently in Cambodia.

In addition, he also mentioned the dispute between former employees and NagaWorld, he always called and urged the relevant parties to hold talks to reach a solution. He added that some stakeholders have now been released on bail to seek further negotiations under the coordination of the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training, and he continues to encourage and push for negotiations to end this problem as soon as possible.

In response, Mr. Vitit Muntarbhorn thanked him for constructive discussions and mutual understanding. Sar Kheng also expressed his gratitude and stated that he was always ready to meet with the professor at the next opportunity as needed.
